    Amazon posts before almost anyone. Rolling review, so week one matters more than the deadline.

    Opened 15 Aug last cycle
    Microsoft has held mid-August for several years running. Have the resume finished before it posts, not after.

    One of the biggest intern classes in tech, released in waves rather than all at once. Check weekly.

    Opens mid-Oct · closes in 2–4 weeks
    The shortest window that matters. Google opens, fills, and closes inside a month. Miss it and it's next year — there is no late application.

What to do this week

  • Finish the resume before Microsoft posts. Not the week after. Every one of these is rolling, which means the queue you join is decided by your speed, not your quality.
  • Apply to Big 4 the week it opens. Biggest classes, least competition per seat, and almost nobody in your year is watching for it.
  • Put Google in your calendar for 1 October. Two to four weeks is the entire opportunity. Treat it like an exam date.

Class of 2029

You have four months before anything opens. That's the only real head start anyone gets.

    Spring weeks, insight days, first-year programmes. Most convert directly into a junior-summer interview, which is the actual point of them.

    Opens from Dec 2026
    This is your cycle. Morgan Stanley's 2028 window is expected around 1 January 2027 and closing mid-February. Others move within weeks of each other.
  • Tech — Summer 2028next summer
    Summer–autumn 2027
    Same shape as this year: Amazon and Microsoft first, Google last and shortest.

What to do with four months

  • Build one thing that exists in public. This is the only window in your entire degree where you can build something before anyone's judging you on it. In December that stops being true.
  • Do the free credentials now, not in December. When applications open you'll want the whole month for applications, not for coursework.
  • Apply to sophomore programmes this autumn. They convert into junior-summer interviews and almost nobody in your year knows they exist.

You're on full-time now, and it started earlier than you think.

Your internships are done. Everything from here is a start date, not a summer.

    Ask your manager directly what the process is and when the decision lands. If the answer is no, ask what would have made it a yes — that answer is worth more than the offer.

    Autumn 2026 for 2027 starts
    Most large employers open graduate hiring in the autumn before the start date, on the same rolling basis the internships used. Confirm each employer's page — new-grad timing varies far more than internship timing.

What to do this week

  • Have the return-offer conversation now if you haven't. Waiting reads as not wanting it.
  • Write down your own numbers before you lose system access. What you built, what it saved, what it moved. You cannot reconstruct this in October in front of a blank resume.
  • Get the recommendation in writing while people still remember your project name.

The part that applies to every year

It's all rolling. Nobody waits for the deadline to start reading. By the time a mid-January deadline arrives, somewhere between 60 and 80 percent of the seats are already committed.

Which means there is no deadline that matters. There's an opening date, and you're either there or you're not.
